U.S. prosecutors filed charges including conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, murder, and destruction of aircraft.
At the same time, the U.S. military confirmed that the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group had entered Caribbean waters as part of Southern Command operations. “This accusation carries an additional threat, given the well-known, dark practice of the United States using accusations like this to take military action against sovereign states,” Fernández de Cossío said during an appearance on Cuban state television.
