“If you want peace, prepare for war”—a saying that resonated strongly today during a campaign meeting by Hon. Sonsoke Kachepatsonga, Shadow MCP MP for M’Buka Constituency.
The meeting was held at Mtsukabere School Ground, where Kachepatsonga appealed to residents to vote for him in the upcoming general election.
He urged the people that if they vote for him as MP and for President Lazarus Chakwera, the area will see meaningful development, noting that Chakwera delivers on his promises.

Kachepatsonga said he understands the problems that have plagued the constituency since the multi-party era.
He asked voters to reflect on past leaders, questioning whether they delivered on their promises.
“Where are those politicians today?” he asked.
He described them as greedy leaders whose only objective was to use the people for personal gain, likening them to a hoe that is discarded after use.
Kachepatsonga warned voters to be cautious this time and assured them that if elected as MP, alongside the two local councillors and their developmental champion, President Chakwera, the area will develop.
He highlighted basic needs that remain unmet, such as access to potable water, and emphasized that development must reach every part of the constituency.
Narrating his manifesto, which he branded as “M’Buka Constituency for Development,” Kachepatsonga outlined plans to empower women through microfinance clubs and income-generating activities.
He said he has already engaged well-wishers and is committed to implementing these initiatives to improve livelihoods.
Kachepatsonga concluded by advising residents not to vote for candidates in opposition, stating that such leaders lack the resources and capacity to drive development in the area.
Speaking as Guest of Honour, Shadow Councillor for Sanjiko Ward, Hon. Bruno Daka, told the large gathering that Kachepatsonga is a son of the community who was born, raised, and educated in the area.
He emphasized that if elected, Kachepatsonga will never abandon the constituency and understands its challenges.
Daka encouraged residents to vote for MCP candidates, cautioning them against politicians who do not have the people’s best interests at heart.
He cited the recent visit by President Lazarus Chakwera to the area as a visible sign of development and progress under MCP leadership.
Daka urged voters to support Kachepatsonga, the two councillors, and Chakwera to ensure M’Buka sees tremendous development.
He reminded the crowd of the improvements in Lilongwe’s roads as evidence of Chakwera’s capacity to deliver and encouraged voters to make informed decisions.
In his welcome remarks, Senior Group Village Headman of Mtsukabere acknowledged the area’s pressing problems, including the lack of adequate school infrastructure, as Mtsukabere School currently has only one block.
He also emphasized the need to improve the area’s roads, which are in poor condition, and expressed the community’s reliance on Kachepatsonga for support.
The senior group village headman urged communities to vote for Kachepatsonga, assuring him of their commitment.
Kachepatsonga will contest against candidates from DPP, UTM, and other parties, as M’Buka is one of the newly established constituencies in the area.
This campaign meeting forms part of Kachepatsonga’s strategy to engage communities ahead of the general election.
Ultimately, it is up to the voters to decide which candidate will represent them in Parliament.
