Hannock Mbulu Phiri’s night ended in disappointment as he was defeated by Simeon Super Power Tchetha in a non-title boxing match at the M1 Center Point in Lilongwe.

The match, organized by Youth Boxing Promotion, saw both fighters give their all in a highly competitive encounter.

However, it was Tchetha who emerged victorious, thanks to a dominant performance in the later rounds.

In the fifth round, Phiri was sent crashing to the canvas, courtesy of a powerful combination from Tchetha.

Despite efforts to get back to his feet, Phiri was unable to continue, and the referee declared Tchetha the winner by technical knockout.

In a post-match interview, Tchetha stated, “I knew I had the upper hand in this fight, and I was determined to emerge victorious.” When asked about his strategy, Tchetha replied, “I studied Phiri’s movements and waited for the perfect moment to strike.”

Phiri, on the other hand, acknowledged Tchetha’s skills, saying, “Tchetha was the better fighter tonight, and I congratulate him on his victory.”

The win marks a significant milestone in Tchetha’s career, while Phiri will look to regroup and bounce back from this defeat.

The match was a thrilling encounter that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Both fighters gave their all, and in the end, Tchetha’s skills and determination paid off.

Meanwhile, residents in Blantyre have complained to boxing organizers for sidelining them in the sport.

Over four years, Blantyre residents have not been entertained with a live boxing event, while Lilongwe has been favored with regular matches.

The residents are calling for more events to be held in Blantyre, citing the city’s rich boxing history and the need for more entertainment options.
