Lilongwe, Malawi – Wolves Academy stamped their authority in youth volleyball after a clean sweep at the 2025 Phatafuli Investments Under-18 Volleyball Tournament, held at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The academy’s boys and girls teams both clinched gold, defeating Spixens Academy 3-0 in their respective finals to underline their supremacy in Malawian junior volleyball.
Spixens had to settle for second place in both categories, while Minthopa-He (boys) and Minthopa-She (girls) secured third positions. In the boys’ category, Snipers Youth came fourth, while Kasiya Spartans finished fourth in the girls’ division.

Phatafuli Investments Marketing Executive, Austin Lemani, expressed satisfaction with the success of the tournament.

“We want volleyball to grow in the country. We are proud to be part of the growth of the sport in Malawi,” said Lemani.
His remarks were echoed by Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) representative, Ambilike Mwaungulu, who hailed Phatafuli Investments for investing in grassroots volleyball development.

The tournament attracted young talent from across the country, giving players a platform to showcase their skills and prepare for higher levels of competition. Sports analysts believe that such initiatives will strengthen Malawi’s volleyball structures and open opportunities for promising athletes to represent the nation on international stages.
With Wolves Academy’s double triumph, the 2025 edition will be remembered as a milestone event that highlighted the rising standards of youth volleyball in Malawi.
