Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have beaten Silver Strikers Reserve 1-0 to emerge champions of the 2022 Aubrey Dimba 5 Million Kwacha Ipite Trophy in a game played on Sunday.
This is the second time Bullets have humiliated the Central Bankers Reserve to clinch the Trophy’s championship.
The first minutes of the game saw Silver Strikers dominating play with its passing football but didn’t produce any goals. The first half ended with no goals from either side.
But Silver were one man down in the first 15 minutes of the second half after their right back, Frank Sanudi got a red card following a foul on Bullets’ Emmanuel Salviel.
Bullets then piled pressure on their opponents, taking advantage of their numbers. On the 91st minute of the added minutes, Chrispin Mapempha scored the lone and winning goal of the match to give Bullets the bragging rights of the trophy again.
In the game, referee Charles Bulazio flashed 8 yellow cards and a red card to Silver Strikers Reserve with Bullets getting one yellow card after Mapemba removed a jersey while celebrating his goal.
While conceding defeat, Central Bankers Reserve Coach, Mcdonald Yobe, faulted the referee for failing to make proper decisions.
His counterpart, Enos Chatama described the final as tough; saying their opponent dominated the match from the start.
Meanwhile, sponsor of the trophy, Aubrey Dimba pledged to examine the concerns raised in this trophy before introducing another one.
Bullets Reserve and Silver Strikers Reserve have pocketed K1.5 million and K700 000 for emerging champions and runners-up respectively.
