Cambridge International Schools Development Manager for East Africa, Bernard Wanyonyi, has reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to enhancing Malawi’s education sector in alignment with the nation’s vision for development. Wanyonyi made these remarks during a joint information session held at Central High International School in Lilongwe, in collaboration with the British Council.
The session was designed to equip school leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and how it can be effectively applied to improve educational outcomes in Malawi. Wanyonyi emphasized the importance of aligning educational practices with global standards while addressing the specific needs of Malawian students. “Cambridge is committed to supporting the growth of Malawi’s education system, ensuring it meets the needs of learners and contributes to the country’s broader development goals,” he said.
Central High International School Principal, Swapna Joseph, expressed optimism about the impact of the session, noting that the insights gained would help educators refine their teaching methods. “These sessions give us the tools to enhance our teaching strategies, better support our students, and ultimately contribute to the improvement of Malawi’s education system,” she said.
The collaboration between Cambridge International and the British Council is seen as a step forward in advancing education in Malawi, providing school leaders with the resources needed to foster a more dynamic and effective learning environment.
