Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee Launches Inquiry into Allegations Against High Court Judge Ken Manda

By Burnett Munthali

The Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament has announced that it has officially launched an inquiry into allegations of corruption and other malpractices against High Court Judge Ken Manda. The investigation comes after concerns were raised regarding Judge Manda’s involvement in corrupt dealings, casting doubt on his integrity as a judicial officer.

Peter Dimba, Chairperson of the committee, confirmed the development in an interview with Zodiak Online earlier today. Dimba revealed that committee members held a meeting in Lilongwe, where they made the decision to begin the inquiry.

The inquiry will involve consultations with key stakeholders, including the Malawi Law Society (MLS) and lawyer Alexious Kamangila, who has been vocal in exposing corruption within the judiciary. According to Dimba, if the committee finds the allegations to be credible, it will recommend that Parliament impeach Justice Manda.
