The company’s Administration and Human Resource Manager, Jackson Chapuma, made the announcement in Mzuzu on Monday during the launch of the Raiply National Volleyball Championship sponsorship package.

Meanwhile, Raiply Malawi has already produced over 1.3 million seedlings at its nurseries, paving the way for the expanded tree planting initiative.

Chapuma and the company’s Public Relations Officer Dalitso Chimwala hinted that the tree planting exercises will extend beyond the Vipya/Chikangawa forest plantation. Seedlings will be distributed to: Schools, churches, community clubs, corporate partners and the media organizations.

“Our goal is to make Malawi greener,” Chimwala emphasized. “We’re committed to supplying tree seedlings to our partners, promoting environmental sustainability.” This initiative demonstrates Raiply Malawi’s dedication to environmental stewardship, going beyond its core business to contribute to a sustainable future.

However, the Africa’s largest man-made forests, which is a valuable ecosystem faces significant threats from annual infernos which do not only destroy newly planted trees but also endanger wildlife habitats and the local community.

“Despite these challenges, we remain focused and committed to our mission,” Chimwala chipped in. “We’re working closely with local authorities and communities establishing effective fire management systems aimed at promoting sustainable land use practices.”

Enhancing it’s partnerships with schools, churches, community clubs, corporate partners, and media organizations towards expanding its tree planting efforts, Raiply Malawi Limited sets a shining example for corporate environmental responsibility in Malawi.
