DPP Southern Region Fundraising Dinner and Dance: A Call to Action for Malawi’s Revival

Honourable Joseph Mwanamvekha, Vice President for the Southern Region of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), warmly welcomed His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to the DPP Southern Region Fundraising Dinner and Dance.

The event aimed to rally support and resources for DPP’s efforts in the upcoming elections ¹.

Speaking at the event at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre, Mwanamvekha expressed gratitude to Mutharika for accepting the invitation to be the guest of honor.

He acknowledged the presence of distinguished guests, including DPP officials, business persons, clergy, and members of the press.

Mwanamvekha emphasized Mutharika’s potential return to the State House, bringing back Malawi’s lost glory under President Lazarus Chakwera’s administration.

He expressed confidence in Mutharika’s leadership to revive the country.

In his remarks, Noel Lipipa, MP, praised Mutharika as a distinguished leader and one of Malawi’s few “Ivy League” educated individuals.

Lipipa noted that Mutharika’s exceptional leadership skills were evident even during his presidency, as he entrusted various responsibilities to young individuals across different government departments.

Notably, some senior DPP members from the Northern Region were absent from the event, highlighting existing divisions within the party ⁵.
