The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has shut down three fuel stations for selling fuel in jerry cans above the regulated prices.
The affected stations are MERU in Santhe, PUMA at Gemini in Lilongwe, and TOTAL Ufulu in Lilongwe.
Malawi has been experiencing a fuel crisis, characterized by persistent shortages and price hikes.
The situation has been exacerbated by the global increase in fuel prices, which has put pressure on the local market.
