A Commission of Enquiry That Needs a Commission of Enquiry

By Comrade jumbe

The recent report released by the Commission of Enquiry into the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Dr. Saulos Chilima and eight others has left us Malawians enraged deeply dissatisfied and frustrated.

What was expected to be a thorough, transparent, and fact-based investigation has instead become a poorly tailored narrative riddled with baseless findings and an insult to our collective intelligence.

The so-called “findings” presented by this commission lack substance, coherence, and credibility.

The very foundation of their report raises more questions than answers, leading many Malawians to conclude that this commission was not in pursuit of truth but rather in service of a hidden agendas.

How can we trust a report that avoids the most critical piece of evidence—the black box recordings?

The Black Box—The Missing Truth

Malawians are demanding transparency, not half-baked conclusions.

The black box from the ill-fated flight holds the key to understanding what transpired in the final moments before the crash.

Yet, the commission has conveniently sidestepped this crucial evidence, opting instead for speculative theories and vague conclusions.

We demand that the black box of that crushed plane be brought public and recordings be played publicly on our televisions and radio stations.

Let us Malawians hear for ourselves what truly happened.

Anything less than this is a mockery of justice and an affront to the memory of Dr. Saulos Chilima and the other victims, there are many things which are not adding up why chimwendo banda changed the schedule all of sudden and escaped from boarding this plane ?

Malawi is not a banana republic. Our democracy thrives on truth, accountability, and justice.

No one, no matter their position or influence which they have in a society should intimidate or suppress citizens who are seeking the truth on this matter.

A Commission Lacking Credibility

This commission’s handling of the investigation has shown a glaring lack of professionalism and independence.

Their findings appear to be tailored to fit predetermined conclusions rather than being based on genuine evidence.

This begs the question: who benefits from this distortion of facts?

The commission itself has become a subject of scrutiny, and perhaps it is time for a separate commission of enquiry to investigate their conduct.

Malawians deserve better than this. We deserve leaders and institutions that respect our intelligence and are committed to uncovering the truth.

2025 Elections: The True Commission of Enquiry

As we look ahead to the 2025 elections, let us remember that this will be our opportunity to hold those in power accountable.

The ballot box will serve as the ultimate commission of enquiry, where Malawians will vote wisely for a government that prioritizes truth, justice, and transparency.

Fellow Malawians, this is not just about the loss of Dr. Saulos Chilima and the eight others. It is about the principles that define us as a nation.

We will not rest until the real gospel truth surrounding this tragedy is revealed.

Let this be a reminder to those in power: the people of Malawi will not be silenced or deceived.

The truth must prevail.

My pen is mightier than a sword.
