Manda Is Free To Leave Civil

In a significant development, Civil Service United has agreed to release right-back Masiya Manda and have allowed the player to activate his contract buyout clause.

Masiya Manda who is being linked with a move to Mighty Wanderers Football Club and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has been a point of speculations in January after both clubs asked about his availability.

The Servants were keen to keep the player amidst interests from the two top teams but Manda on Thursday penned Football Association of Malawi to intervene and convince Civil to allow him to activate his buy-out clause which is said to be MK10 Million.

However, FAM rebuffed the player stating that it is an in-house matter.

According to a communication from Civo CEO Edgar Chipalanjira, addressed to Manda’s manager, Robert Baggio Ng’ambi, the club has given the green light for the player to proceed with the financial arrangement required for his release.

“I am officially responding to your letter dated 24 January in which you expressed your great interest to buy out the contract of Masiya Manda, which was signed last January and runs up to 2026,” Chipalanjira said.

“After thorough consultations, I am pleased to report that we have accepted your proposal to pay the said sum of MK10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Kwacha) as contained in your letter.”

The CEO further urged for the payment to be made with urgency to allow the club to begin the process of finding a suitable replacement for Manda.
