“When a leader loses his honesty, he loses his nation.”
Let me begin by commending President Joseph Boakai of Liberia for his firm stand against corruption. His decision to fire over 450 government officials, including ministers, sends a strong message: leadership is about serving the people, not enriching oneself.
This is the kind of bold and principled leadership Africa needs—leaders who uphold integrity, not those who hide behind empty speeches.
Sadly, in Malawi, we are governed by a man who has made deception his policy, failure his legacy, and corruption his companion.
President Lazarus Chakwera has led this nation not with wisdom, but with false promises, and today, Malawi stands on the brink of ruin under his watch pa chichewa pali mawu amatero kuti ukatambatamba kimayang’ana ku mmawa; lero ndi izi kugwidwa nalo boza mu parliament.
“A pot that leaks cannot hold water, just as a leader who lies cannot hold trust.”
From the moment Chakwera took office, his leadership has been a parade of broken promises, scandals, and betrayals.
He assured us of affordable fertilizer, yet farmers throughout his tenure they cry in despair.
He promised jobs, yet the youth wander the streets, searching for opportunities that only exist in his speeches. He vowed to end corruption, yet it thrives within his own government, untouched and unchallenged mpaka kufika pokagula fertilizer ku butchery ndi ma billions a ndalama yathu ya misonkho.
The recent State of the Nation Address (SONA) was not an account of progress—it was a carefully scripted deception.
He stood before the nation and lied about developments that do not exist. A leader who deceives his people in the highest office of the land is unworthy of that office.
A Leader Who Betrays His Oath Cannot Lead
“When a hunter becomes the protector of the prey, the jungle turns to chaos.”
Chakwera swore an oath before God and the nation to uphold the truth, to serve with honesty, and to defend the Constitution. Today, that oath lies in shambles.
A President who stands on the foundation of lies has already fallen in the hearts of his people. Leadership is not about speeches, but about actions. And the only action Chakwera has consistently delivered is betrayal.
Malawi Deserves Better—Chakwera Must Go
“A tree that bears bitter fruit cannot expect its people to feast in sweetness.”
Enough is enough. Malawi cannot be governed by deception any longer. If Chakwera had even the smallest shred of integrity left, he would resign immediately.
A leader who lies in Parliament, lies to the Constitution, and lies to the people has no moral ground to remain in power.
But if he refuses, let him know that the people of Malawi will not be silent. We will use every democratic means available to demand the leadership we deserve—one built on truth, not falsehoods.
Malawi is greater than any one man. The nation must rise above this failed leadership. The time for accountability is now.
This country belongs to us all and we shall not allow anyone to dictate us with fear eta of autocracy was long gone with kamuzu banda I write what I see.
