MPs’ absence from Parliament sparks outrage

A shocking display of absenteeism was witnessed in Parliament today, as only 51 out of 193 Members of Parliament (MPs) were present during the morning session.

This blatant disregard for their duties has sparked widespread outrage among citizens, who are demanding accountability from their elected representatives.

The absent MPs, who represent various parties including the ruling party, opposition, and independents, have been accused of showing a lack of seriousness and commitment to their roles.

Their absence not only undermines the democratic process but also wastes taxpayers’ money.

“It’s unacceptable that these MPs are not taking their responsibilities seriously,” said a concerned citizen. “They were elected to represent us and make decisions on our behalf, but instead, they are absent without explanation.”

The 51 MPs who were present during the session, on the other hand, have been praised for their dedication and commitment to their duties.

They have demonstrated that they are true representatives of the people and are willing to work tirelessly to address the country’s challenges.

“These 51 MPs are the true sons and daughters of Malawi,” said another citizen. “They deserve our support and appreciation for their hard work and dedication.”

The issue of MPs’ absenteeism has been a long-standing problem in Malawi’s Parliament, and citizens are now demanding action.

Many are calling for the absent MPs to be held accountable and for measures to be put in place to prevent such absenteeism in the future.

One of the suggestions is that the absent MPs should not receive their allowances for the day.

This, citizens argue, will serve as a deterrent and encourage MPs to take their responsibilities seriously.

Furthermore, citizens are vowing not to re-elect the absent MPs in the upcoming elections. “We will not vote for MPs who do not take their responsibilities seriously,” said a voter. “We deserve better representation, and we will demand it.”

As the country prepares for the upcoming elections, the issue of MPs’ absenteeism is likely to be a major campaign issue.

Citizens are demanding accountability and transparency from their elected representatives, and it remains to be seen how the absent MPs will respond to these demands.
