The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has joined forces with the Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) to launch a five-year partnership aimed at revolutionizing grassroots football in the country.
The landmark agreement, signed on Monday, marks a significant milestone in Malawi’s football development journey.
By combining their expertise and resources, FAM and MASSA are poised to create a robust platform for identifying, nurturing, and developing young football talent from schools across the nation.
FAM President Fleetwood Haiya hailed the partnership as a crucial step towards strengthening the foundation of Malawi’s football ecosystem.
“Schools are the breeding ground for football talent, and it’s essential that we provide them with the necessary support and resources to help young players realize their potential,” Haiya said.
Through this partnership, FAM will provide technical support, coaching, and other essential resources to school football programs.
MASA president says this structured approach will ensure that young players have a clear pathway to progress from school football to professional leagues, expected to have a profound impact on Malawi’s football landscape, enabling the country to tap into its vast reservoir of untapped talent.
As the partnership unfolds, schools across the country can look forward to benefiting from expert coaching, training, and resources.
For young football enthusiasts, this initiative presents a golden opportunity to hone their skills, pursue their passion, and potentially become the next big stars in Malawian football.
