In a recent operation, police in the district of Thyolo have arrested Kasewa Madengu, a 40-year-old man, on suspicion of possessing illicit drugs without the proper authorization.

The arrest follows a tip-off from a concerned individual who informed the police that Madengu had been found with drugs at his home.

Rebecca Kashoti, a spokesperson for the police in the district, confirmed the incident and emphasized that they were acting in the best interest of the community by taking swift action.

She further stated that the police had confiscated the drugs from Madengu’s residence and that he would soon appear in court to face the charges.

Madengu resides in Mpando village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nchilamwela traditional authority in the Thyolo district.
