All the roads in Lilongwe on Sunday led to Lilongwe – Mpenu constituency in the areaof T/A Mazengera where the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led by its Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata and Secretary General Peter Mukhito were addressing a rally.
The DPP rally in Lilongwe-Mpenu was held after the Lilongwe City Council ordered the party to choose one place for the main rally blocking the whistle-stop tours which were planned in Lilongwe City before the Lilongwe-Mpenu rally.
The Lilongwe-Mpenu rally marked the third rally addressed by DPPs Vice President Alfred Gangata after Mgona and Mtandire townships which have shaken the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) that proven leadership is coming on the 16th September, 2025 General Elections.
Speaking during Lilongwe-Penu rally on Sunday, DPP’s National Director of Youth Norman Paulosi Chisale, urged traditional chiefs across the country and those of Lilongwe-Mpenu to warmly receive the free for all K50,000s State House is giving them that this is their money.
Chisale said Malawians are in pain and suffering saying the K50,000s they are receiving from State House should not make them forget that things are not good in the country and their focus should be on Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to come with his proven leadership on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He asked traditional village heads to attend each and every political rally held in their areas for them to make informed choice so that come the 16th September, 2025 they should not repeat the mistake they made on the 23rd June, 2020 voting for a wrong person into government.
“No one should threaten you, attend to all campaign meetings to sample out manifestos for the best to be voted into power,” said Chisale while kneeling down before them.
He assured traditional village heads that once the DPP retain to power, the party will continue working hand in hand with them to initiate development projects in their respective areas so that their areas are improved for the people to see the difference.
Chisale appealed to the youth not to forget their poverty that is surrounding them such as no jobs, no businesses and no money in their pockets at the end of the day coming back home with nothing and no hope for a better tomorrow.
He encouraged all the youth in Malawi regardless of their party affiliations that there is one and only trusted leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to liberate the country from the hands of the MCP the party which has inflicted untold sufferings in Malawi.
The DPP Youth Director expressed hope that the youth of Malawi after sailing through pain for 5 years of the MCP government and its leader President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will not make mistake again on the 16th September, 20225 but to vote for proven leadership claiming that MCP is gone in the eyes of Malawians.
