Political activist Bon Kalindo, has called for electoral Alliances to have legal backings warning parties that without this, the country will continue to see fake Alliances as witnessed with MCP/UTM Alliance where the MCP was seen to be dominating in all the affairs.
Kalindo has accused opposition parties of failing to take advantage of the just sitting of Parliament to move a motion for the electoral alliances to have legal backing so that the 50+1 majority be applied in the interest of all.
He said he has been saying this time and again but the opposition parties are paying deaf ears to his preaching warning them that if they are not united for one purpose, they should forget winning the 16th September, 2025 elections.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has lamented that failure by the opposition parties to come together as one unit to fight the MCP government, has resulted to Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja taking the 16th September, 2025 elections as elections in her house.
Kalindo has warned opposition party leaders that change cannot come in Malawi if they are divided and not speaking one language observing that millions of Malawians are angry with the country’s leadership for not listening to their cries.
He has also warned opposition parties that if they let Mec to use the Smartmatic machines, there is no way the opposition can claim victory observing that as the writings are on the wall, Mec will declare President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera the winner against the will of the people.
The activist has appealed to opposition parties that the time to go to court is now, and at the same time, write a joint letter to the international community and the donors about Mec’s reluctance to allow independent auditors audit its machines.
He said this is the time for all opposition parties to boycott the 16th September, 2025 elections so that the world knows of the reasons and the MCP to continue running the country because they have already been proved to be interfering with MEC affairs.
“Some of the opposition party leaders are working for President Chakwera and his MCP to make sure that the opposition Alliance should not work in the country against the MCP,” said Kalindo.
He has accused the Public Affairs Committee, Human rights bodies, Malawi Defense Force and Malawi Police Service of being seen useless in the eyes of the suffering Malawians and have all been proved to be backing the MCP government for nonsense.
Kalindo has finally said if Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima was alive, this nonsense of taking opposition parties for granted, would not have happened, praying to the Almighty God to keep his spirit continue resting in peace warning Enoch Chihana, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe and Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo that they are next to be arrested by Police after Mzimba North legislator Yeremiah Chihana.
