Karonga based rights activist Lytone Mangochi, has saluted Bishop Martin Mtumbuka of the Diocese of Karonga in the Roman Catholic Church for speaking justice that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, Malawi Defense Force(MDF) and Malawi Police Service (MPS) are not above the constitution.
Mangochi has claimed that President Chakwera is the same as Mangochi himself and there’s no way Malawians could be fearing him as next to God, thanking Bishop Mtumbuka for telling him nothing but the truth.
He has faulted Malawians wrong that they are taking President Chakwera as God while he is violating their rights by not listening to their cries advising President Chakwera to take heed of what Bishop Mtumbuka told him that Malawi is not ruled by a military junta.
Speaking through a video clip, Mangochi has accused Vice President Dr. Michael Usi for speaking against justice of what Bishop Mtumbuka said at Chikumbutso Mtuumodzi’s funeral service reminding Usi that he has a duty to tell President Chakwera that he is doing nonsense in the eyes of Malawians.
Mangochi said the MCP government has paid for the nonsense which Minister of Trade and Industry Vitumbiko Mumba banned import and export of agricultural produce between Tanzania and Malawi claiming that there are no bananas in Malawi markets.
He said had it been that Malawi had a government of the people, by the people and for the people, the ban on agricultural produce could not have been effected but all this happened because the country has no leader to look after the welfare of its citizens.
The activist said on a sad note, Ministers Nancy Tembo, Vitumbiko Mumba and Moses Kunkuyu had to fly to Dodoma to kneel down before the Tanzanian government for effective a ban on agricultural produce without knowing what tomorrow will be.
“The whole MCP government sending three ministers to Tanzania only to apologize, they could have done this through a statement but decided to waste tax payers’ money for a simple matter, just to apologize, what a shameful government,” said Mangochi.
He has asked the MCP to tell Malawians what has it done for Malawians to give them the second mandate of running the country from 2025 to 2030 claiming that all the projects which are being seen today, were initiated by Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his DPP.
Mangochi said Malawians will remember the MCP for being the worst corrupt government the country has ever had since the dawn of multiparty politics and democracy in 1994 urging the media to prove him wrong by going to Chirumba in Karonga to see how MRA officials are taking money from the people without issuing receipts.
