An online Television station Bakili Muluzi TV, says Edgar Chagwa Lungu, former President of the Republic of Zambia has died and is being treated as a hero, where President Hakainde Hichilema has described him as a man who dedicated his presidency for respecting the rule of law in Zambia.
Bakili Muluzi TV says while Edgar Lungu has been treated as a hero, he was treated very badly not as a former President of the Republic of Zambia but a mere human being not as prominent as he was when the government of President Hakainde Hichilema has been denying him to go for medical assistance outside the country.
He said EdgarLungu was suffering from throat cancer and he went for surgery 10 years ago and on the 16th August, 2024 he wanted to go for medical check-up outside Zambia but this was rejected by the government of President Hakainde.
The Television station said in May,2024 he bought an air ticket to enable him fly to South Africa but this too, landed into the deaf ears of President Hakainde saying the condition worsen prompting Lungu to go to South Africa again for treatment.
Bakili Muluzi TV said early this year with the worsening condition of his throat cancer, Lungu flew out of the country to South Africa and after his departure, President Hakainde’s government fired from his position airport Manager Paul Kasone for allowing Lungu to flew out of the country to South Africa.
He said while he was receiving medical treatment in South Africa. No Zambian government official including President Hakainde Hichilema talked to him or wishing him a quick recovery and today, the Government of President Hakainde has described him a good man because he is dead.
“This is the problem with African leaders, the dead is receiving honors including a Guard of Honor mounted by the Defense Force and not the living,” said Bakili Muluzi TV.
He said in Malawi, former Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima was left in the cold of the Chikangawa forest for 24 hours with the searching mission team abandoning their work because it was dark only to come back the other day to continue their searching operation.
Bakili Muluzi TV said while Dr. Chilima was treated like a dead dog in the Chikangawa forest, the MCP government will honor him through a memorial tombstone service at Nthungwa in the Chikangawa forest in Nkhatabay on the 10th June, 2025 to be led by President Chakwera.
He said on 10th June, 2025 the families of the departed souls of Chikangawa tragic deaths will convene at Nsipe in Ntcheu district for a Memorial mass to honor the departed Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, who were tragically killed in the circumstances best explained by the MCP government.
