Jumbe says Mec has chosen secrecy over transparency

By Vincent Gunde

A voice of the voiceless citizen of Malawi Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, says the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) under the current MCP administration has chosen secrecy over transparency, claiming that in the previous elections, political parties and independent observers were granted access to audit the system.

Comrade Jumbe says citizens were allowed to witness, question, and verify, but today, this Mec captured and compromised, has refused to open its system for scrutiny-the thief who refuses to be searched, is already guilty.

He says it is no longer a matter of suspicion, it is now a matter of national emergency, Malawians are being led into a rigged election, they are being told to trust the system and vote blindfolded for candidates of their choice.

Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe says Malawians are being asked to place their trust in an electoral process that clearly been hijacked to serve the interests of one man and one party, President Chakwera and the MCP.

Comrade Jumbe says this is the hour that will define them, they must take bold and lawful action, seek court injunction to stop the September, 2025 elections until full transparency is guaranteed, mobilize the masses for peaceful demonstrations across the country.

He says boycott any sham process that insults the will of the people is a must, saying Malawians are not calling for chaos, they are calling for justice, truth and the right of every Malawian to choose their leaders in a free, fair and credible elections.

The citizen has advised Malawians not to stay silent, no opposition party, activists and leader to stand aside in fear or comfort saying this fight is bigger than politics, it is about the soul of the country’s democracy claiming that top officials in Mec are not neutral but loyal sympathizers of the MCP.

He has warned Malawians that when the crocodile smiles at the frog, it is not friendship-it is hunger saying Malawians must not be deceived by sweet speeches and calm voices, observing that what is happening is an attack on their democratic rights.
“If we hold our arms now, we will wake-up in a country where elections are mere theatre and leadership is decided long before the first vote is cast,” reads Comrade Jumbe’s writings on the wall.

He says Malawians refuse to legitimize fraud, they refuse to march into a trap, they refuse to remain silent while their future is stolen urging them to rise in unity, in law, and in numbers to flood the courts with demands for justice.

Comrade Jumbe has urged Malawians to flood the streets with peaceful protests, flood social media, churches, schools, villages and cities with one message NO transparency NO elections, NO audit, NO vote and NO truth, NO peace.

He says Malawi belongs to all, not to one man and one party saying the struggle has begun, the chains will break, the truth shall rise and victory is certain saying manipulating elections is to murder the soul of their very own nation.
