Karonga based rights activist Lytone Mangochi and Political activist Bon Kalindo have asked Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo to rejoin Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and leave Malawians alone assuring him that no wise Malawian can join the MCP.
Mangochi and Kalindo have questioned the motive behind Mtambo speaking on Zodiak exclusive interview praising President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that he has sailed through various challenges urging Malawians to understand his failures.
Kalindo said if there is a party not wanted in Malawi is the MCP for having leaders who do not have the welfare of citizens at heart including President Chakwera himself claiming that Malawians are in pain and suffering more today than they were in the previous governments.
“Mtambo, are you serious to tell Malawians that MCP is better today, the same party which booted you out of a ministerial position to join AFORD and today, AFORD is bad, MCP is good, money is speaking louder than justice,” he said.
Mangochi said Mtambo would have been the first person to accuse the MCP of failing to construct a- 30 Kilometer Road from Ilomba to Mbirima up to Isongole in Chitipa claiming that 5 contractors were deployed to the road with nothing on the ground.
He said the MCP has nothing to show of its development in the Northern Region of Malawi questioning it of the Mombera University and Orton Chirwa International Airport adding that the beautiful roads that are being constructed in Lilongwe, are the foundations of the DPP and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
The activist has asked AFORD President Enoch Chihana to come out and speak to Malawians to clarify his stand for Malawians to know the truth because a lot is being said that he is joining the MCP and clear out the misleading statement made by Mtambo that MCP is a better party.
“Malawians are in pain and suffering, Mtambo cannot say MCP is better, this is speaking for itself that Mtambo beside being AFORD second in command, is not matured in politics,” said Mangochi.
He has expressed his grave concern over the MCP government that it has cleared everything at Nthungwa for Malawians not even to point that the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, were tragically killed at the site.
Mangochi has sent a stern warning to Mec Chairperson Annabel Mtalimanja that Malawi is not for her and the MCP but for all saying while organizations are fighting for women empowerment in decision-making positions and policies, gender has failed in Mtalimanja.
He has finally thanked Frank Tumpale Mwenefumbo for coming in the open endorsing former President and DPP leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to lead the opposition Alliance saying even the villagers themselves are praising Mutharika for equally distributing development projects across the country.
