Moscow, Russia – June 18, 2025
Russia has issued a stern warning to the United States against any form of military involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, cautioning that such interference could trigger a broader, more dangerous regional war.
Speaking during a nationally televised address from the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need for restraint, urging world powers to allow the two nations to “settle their differences accordingly.”
“Allow them settle their differences accordingly,” said Putin. “Any interference against an ally would be an invite to another ally, because an injury for one is an injury for all.”
The statement is widely viewed as a thinly veiled warning to Washington, following reports that the US is considering providing direct military support to Israel in the wake of increasing missile exchanges and cyber-attacks between Jerusalem and Tehran.
Putin reiterated Russia’s strategic alliances in the Middle East, reaffirming Moscow’s long-standing relationship with Tehran, which he described as “a partner of stability and sovereignty against foreign meddling.” He further criticized what he called “reckless Western adventurism” that has historically destabilized the region.
The Kremlin’s warning comes amid growing international concern that the Israel-Iran conflict could spiral into a full-scale regional war, pulling in global superpowers and endangering oil routes and international peace.
In Washington, the White House has yet to respond officially to Putin’s remarks, but insiders suggest the administration is walking a diplomatic tightrope — balancing its historic alliance with Israel while avoiding a direct confrontation with Russia and Iran.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council is expected to convene an emergency session to deliberate on the rising tensions. Russia, a permanent member of the council, is likely to push for a resolution condemning foreign intervention and calling for urgent de-escalation talks.
With global markets already reacting nervously and oil prices surging, analysts warn that any misstep from either side could plunge the world into a prolonged and costly conflict.
