United Democratic Front (UDF) leader Atupele Muluzi has pledged to make the fight against rising commodity prices, lack of money, and hunger his top priorities should he be elected into government.
Muluzi made the remarks during an interview with journalist Brian Banda on the Times Exclusive program, which aired Saturday on Times Television.
The UDF president said that as he travels across the country, he is constantly hearing complaints from Malawians about the unbearable cost of living, shortage of cash, and widespread food insecurity.
He emphasized that his immediate priority will be to ensure that Malawians’ lives improve, beginning with access to adequate food and financial stability.
According to Muluzi, he has both the experience and capacity to govern effectively, having joined politics at the young age of 25.
This year, he marks 22 years in active politics, with 15 of those years served as a Member of Parliament and various roles as a cabinet minister.
On the issue of corruption, Muluzi stated that he is a patriotic citizen who loves his country, which is why he has never been involved in any corruption scandal.
He said his clean record is a result of strong personal values and a commitment to integrity, which he has maintained throughout his political career.
As Malawi continues to struggle with economic instability, Muluzi’s message positions him as a leader focused on restoring public trust, economic opportunity, and accountable governance.
