Freedom fighter and activist Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, has announced that he is joining the demonstrations coming in 7 days -time to show Malawians that he is one of the people who brought multiparty democracy in Malawi.
Kalua said in 1994 Malawians made a declaration that never again shall their country go back to one-party state and dictatorship saying his joining the demonstrations coming is a clear indication that those who fought for democracy to come to Malawi, they did their struggle for a purpose.
He has told former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi to come to Lilongwe to join him in the demonstrations as one who championed democracy to come to Malawi so that they start their journey together from where activist Sylvester Namiwa was left half-dead after being heavily assaulted by MCP thugs in full view of Malawi Police and Malawi Defense Force (MDF) officers who did not rescue him while in the hands of the attackers.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalua has warned President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that he is joining that person on the road that says he is ready to die for Malawi assuring him that he is going to the road to be killed in defense of the hard-won democracy.
Kalua said he is coming to the road to match with that person who has told Malawians that he will die for Malawi, saying he will not carry with him any offensive weapon, he will carry only his trouser and a shirt for the killers to easily chop his legs and hands.
He said he wants to see how the MCP is killing people in a country of democracy saying his coming to the road is not threatening anyone, but to tell the killers that him also is ready to be killed just the same as others are being killed in the country.
“I will be with that person who told Malawians that he is ready to die for Malawi not to die alone, I will tell the killers to kill there where Namiwa was brutally assaulted for my blood to be used as a sacrifice for the country and the 16th September, 2025 elections,” said Kalua.
He has advised the Malawi Police Service (MPS) and Malawi Defense Force (MDF) to be ready for him as he is joining Malawians on the road in a quest to defend the hard-won democracy which the MCP has thrown it to the dogs.
