A voice of the voiceless citizen of Malawi Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, says the drum of victory will not sound for the divided opposition leaders observing that the people are tired of watching opposition leaders who should be their hope, has become their biggest disappointment.
Comrade Jumbe has questioned opposition leaders that are they truly believe they can win these elections by going it alone and dismantle the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) –a party that came to power not by strength alone, but by strategic alliance?
He says today, it is neither MCP nor opposition, it is the opposition suffering in this battle and it is poor Malawians who are victims and suffers most, advising them that the MCP returned to power in June, 2020 not by magic nor miracle, but because of unity.
Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe says the DPP and other opposition parties have been given a second chance to right to the wrongs, a chance to come together to liberate the people from the Chakwera’s leadership.
Comrade Jumbe says arrogance, greed, power struggle, pomposity, saying each opposition leader believes in himself that he is greater than the other, and each one wants to lead, but a few are ready to follow.
He says the opposition leader’s disunity is not just political –it is tragic, it is betrayal, it is selfishness disguised as leadership observing that the campaign period has officially began, yet there’s no sign, not even a whisper of a grand coalition among them.
The voiceless citizen has expressed fears that if they cannot humble themselves for the sake of the people now, what will they do once the reins of power are on their hands, advising the DPP to change and repent for the sake of heavenly.
He says MCP is no small lion, it is well-rooted, well-resourced and well-connected advising opposition parties that if they are to defeat it, they must become something bigger than themselves, form a unity not based on positions, interests of themselves or posters, but on a shared dream for the nation.
“DPP leaders, your time is now, but only if you rise together, embrace the power of collective vision, forge the alliance that Malawians are praying for,” reads Comrade Jumbe’s writings on the wall.
Comrade Jumbe has advised opposition leaders not to go down in history as the ones who failed this country because they could not humble themselves but to go down as the leaders who rose above ego and offered Malawians a true change.
He has finally reminded opposition leaders in Malawi that the battle is not about them, it is about the mother Malawi advising them to rise together or fall apart alone, saying this is a candid call to all of them.
