The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced a strong 44-member provisional squad for the upcoming TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Cosafa Qualifier, set to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe, from September 11 to 20. Coach Enos Chatama has retained 11 key players from last year’s edition in South Africa, signaling confidence in a mix of experienced youth and fresh talent.

The squad will kick off preparations with a training camp at Mpira Village in Blantyre starting Thursday, as they gear up to face tough competition in Group B alongside football powerhouses South Africa, Madagascar, and Zambia.

Joining Chatama are his trusted backroom team — assistant coach Mapopa Msukwa, fitness expert George Sangala, goalkeeper trainer Hethwin Nkumbaleza, and team manager Benjamin Thole — all ready to support Malawi’s quest for continental glory.
