Dr. Saulos Chilima: Ruling from the Grave – The Winds of Change Stir in Malawi

By Comrade jumbe 13/08/25

They say in our African wisdom, “The footprints of a lion cannot be erased from the savannah.”

Today, the spirit and political legacy of the late Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima walk boldly among us, even though his body rests beneath the soil.

The political winds now sweeping across Malawi bear a familiar scent — a scent of defiance, truth-telling, and courage.

What we are witnessing as Dr. Michael Usi steps to the podium to air the dirty laundry of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is not mere coincidence; it is a signal from the grave, a whisper from a fallen leader whose voice refuses to be silenced.

The blood of the innocent is like a seed — bury it, and it will germinate a hundredfold.” Dr. Chilima’s blood has spoken, and its echo is shaping our present.

The Witch Has Shown His Face

In the villages of Africa, it is said: “The witch who kills the people will one day dance in daylight, thinking no one sees.”

MCP’s recent intimidation of Dr. Michael Usi, including the withdrawal of some of his security detail, is a dangerous game — a silent attempt to weaken the Vice President’s safety.

Let us not mince words: this is a constitutional betrayal, and Dr. Usi must not hesitate.

He must take MCP and President Chakwera to court for undermining the Constitution and endangering the second-highest office in the land.

The Spirit of Chilima in Usi

Why do I say Dr. Chilima is ruling from the grave? Because every word Dr. Usi speaks, every truth he dares to utter, is the very stance Chilima would have taken if he were alive.

The people of Malawi are not only listening — they are hungry for the truth. They want corruption uprooted. They want MCP out of power.

Dr. Usi, the nation’s eyes are upon you. You have already captured the hearts of millions. And as we say in Africa, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go with the people.” The people are ready to go far with you.

You Kill One Chilima, Many More Will Rise

God’s ways are mysterious. “You can kill the dreamer, but you cannot kill the dream.” By taking Chilima from us, the enemies of justice thought they had silenced a movement.

Instead, they have ignited a fire. Across Malawi, the youth — the restless lions of this generation — are rising with one voice, calling for genuine change and the end of corruption.

Dr. Usi, you must understand this moment for what it is. Chilima’s hand is in it. His spirit has breathed courage into your lungs. This is not the time for fear; it is the time for boldness.

“When the drumbeat changes, the dancers must also change their steps.” The drumbeat has changed — the nation is ready to dance to the rhythm of truth.

Final word

Dr. Michael Usi, you have the backing of the people and the blessings of history. Fear no one.

Expose MCP. Stand tall, for you are not standing alone — you stand with the spirit of Chilima, with the cries of the youth, and with the heartbeat of a nation that refuses to bow to corruption.

And remember: “The river that forgets its source will dry up.” Malawi has not forgotten the source of its hope. That hope lives on, ruling from the grave.
