Chikwawa, “Malawi,” – Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) running mate Jane Ansah has reiterated the party’s commitment to restoring Malawi’s economy and improving the livelihoods of citizens ahead of the 2025 Malawi general elections.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Chikwawa District, Ansah said a DPP-led government will implement urgent policies to address the shortage of foreign currency, stabilize the supply of vehicle fuel, and reduce the cost of essential goods such as fertilizer.

On education, she pledged that the next DPP administration will introduce a free education policy to enhance access to learning and strengthen Malawi’s education sector. She emphasized that this initiative will benefit students from all backgrounds and promote human capital development

Ansah made these remarks during whistle-stop campaign meetings as part of the DPP’s mobilization drive in the Southern Region.
Meanwhile, the party’s vice president for the Southern Region, Joseph Mwanamveka, called on Chikwawa residents to vote for DPP members of parliament and DPP councillors in the 2025 general elections, stressing the need for strong representation to deliver the party’s development agenda.
With promises of economic recovery, affordable commodities, and free education, the DPP is positioning itself as a key contender in Malawi’s political race.
