A voice of the voiceless citizen of Malawi Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, has claimed that Malawi Congress Party’s (MCP) intimidation of Dr. Michael Usi, including the withdrawal of some of his security detail, is a dangerous game- a silent attempt to weaken the Vice President’s safety.
Comrade Jumbe has described the move by the MCP as unconstitutional betrayal of justice advising him to take the MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to court for undermining the Constitution and endangering the second-highest office in the land.
He says the people of Malawi are not only listening, they are hungry for the truth, they want corruption uprooted and they want MCP out of power urging Dr. Usi that the nation’s eyes are upon him, he has already captured the hearts of millions and the people are ready to go far with him.
Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe says the MCP killed one, Dr. Saulosi Chilima, many more will rise observing that one can kill the dreamer but cannot kill the dream saying Dr. Chilima’s spirit has breathed courage into the citizen’s lungs, this is not the time for fear, it is the time for boldness.
Comrade Jumbe has advised Dr. Usi that he is not standing alone, he is standing with the spirit of Dr. Chilima, with the cries of the youth and with the heartbeat of a nation that refuses to bow to corruption, saying the river that forgets its source will dry up.
He says Malawi has not forgotten the source if its hope, that hope lives on, ruling from the grave, Dr. Chilima is ruling the country from the grave, the winds of political change is stirring and sweeping across Malawi.
The citizen has commended and applauded the courageous and visionary decision by Dr. Usi to meet with Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at the Page House in pursuit of a possible electoral coalition saying this is the kind of decisive and patriotic action that Malawi urgently needs in these final moments before the 16th September, 2025 general elections.
He says opposition unity is not merely a political strategy, it is a moral obligation to the millions of Malawians that are desperate for change claiming that the MCP had its chance and has failed beyond reasonable doubt.
Comrade Jumbe says this is the moment for all opposition parties to rise above the past saying those who delay, waiting for a possible second-round deal with the MCP and President Chakwera, Malawians knows them that they are already in the pocket of MCP.
“The opposition must secure a decisive 50 percen+1 Victory in the first round saying anything less, risks condemning the nation to another 5 years of poverty, corruption, and unfulfilled promises if this opportunity for unity is squandered,” reads Comrade Jumbe’s writing on the wall.
Comrade Jumbe says the previous MCP-UTM alliance collapsed, that is not an excuse- it is a lesson, MCP is a leopard that cannot change spots, advising the opposition to turn the page and write a new story of courage, cooperation and victory for the Malawian people.
He says if the opposition political parties unite now, this election will not just change a government- it will change the future of Malawi saying the time is now, assuring them that Malawians are for the change of leadership and nothing less.
