As we approaches the upcoming elections, we are facing a critical decision that will shape the future of our country.
The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has had its chance, yet it has failed to deliver on the basic needs of the people.
Our country is starving, our economy is in decline, and the trust of the citizens has been repeatedly betrayed.
Casting a vote for MCP at this point is not only unwise—it is a direct betrayal of the nation’s future.
Under MCP’s leadership, Malawi has experienced persistent fuel scarcity, hunger, poverty, and widespread unemployment.
Our hospitals continue to lack essential drugs, our farmers are left without the necessary support to thrive, despite promises of the cheapest fertilizer at 4,500 which instead we are buying 190,000.
Our youth are denied meaningful opportunities for growth and employment and NEEF is just another scam of milking from a thin cow.
Promises made have been broken, and the people’s suffering has deepened.
There is no rational or moral justification for giving MCP another term in office. To do so would be to endorse stagnation, corruption, and failed governance.
The way forward is clear: we must place our votes in the hands of opposition parties. By doing so, we open the door to renewal, accountability, and hope. Ideally, an opposition candidate should win outright in the first round. But should the election move to a re-run, it is imperative that all opposition parties unite behind the leading opposition candidate.
Unity of the opposition is the only viable strategy to rescue Malawi from further decline.
Divisions will only prolong the suffering of the people, while solidarity offers a genuine path to national recovery.
Any opposition party that chooses to side with MCP in this election will be openly declaring itself as an enemy of the people. Such an action will not be forgotten.
Malawians will recognize it for what it is: betrayal for personal gain at the expense of the nation.
The opposition must understand that the stakes are higher than individual ambitions—this is about saving the soul of Malawi.
This is the moment for every Malawian to act with courage and clarity.
The future of our children, the dignity of our people, and the survival of our nation depend on the choices we make at the ballot box. Rejecting MCP is not an option; it is a duty.
The path to change is before us. Let us seize it. Let us unite behind the opposition, and let us ensure that Malawi is rescued from the grip of a party that has failed to govern with vision, honesty, and care.
The time is now. The responsibility is ours. The choice is clear: No votes for MCP. Malawi must move forward.
