Social commentator Dr. Samuel Lwara, has called on all Malawians that love the country regardless of their party affiliations that as they are voting for leaders of their choice on Tuesday 16th September, 2025 they should think of Dr. Saulosi Chilima.
Lwara said Dr. Chilima died a painful death after doing everything possible to make President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera win the presidential seat on the 23rd June, 2020, he was escorted to an early grave, the MCP government has not come up with answers on his tragic death.
He said if President Chakwera was for the love of the country, he would not have stand for a presidential seat, this term from 2025 to 2030 was for Dr. Chilima but MCP has proved itself that it has a DNA of killing innocent people in Malawi.
Speaking through an audio clip, Lwara said Malawians have gone through 5 years of President Chakwera mourning for the dead because President Chakwera has no welfare of the citizens at heart warning Malawians that if they make a mistake of voting for him back into government, God will punish the citizens.
Lwara said Malawians since 1994 have been voting for politicians for presidency apart from the late Professor Bingu wa Mutharika who was an economist saying it is only Dr. Dalitso Kabambe who has a good background of economy, hence deserve to be a good leader to transform the country.
He has strongly warned Malawians that if they vote for President Chakwera to bounce back into government, the country should expect devaluation of the local currency by 70 percent, a bag of maize will be sold at K200,000 and sugar at K10,000 per packet.
“If you vote for President Chakwera, be rest assured that you have voted for another 5 years of suffering,” said Dr. Lwara.
He has appealed to all opposition parties to work together to safeguard the peoples’ vote especially this time when the country is going to the critical elections but most fuel stations are running dry, there is either no petrol or diesel.
Lwara said he is aware that opposition parties have spent a lot of money during this campaign period and this will be a challenge to field monitors in each and every polling centre across the country advising Malawians not to expect much from the party leaders.
He said fuel is scarce and its price is very expensive and as such, it is the duty of each and every Malawian who has felt pain with this MCP government and President Chakwera to guard their votes jealously.
The social commentator said change is not only advocated by opposition party leaders saying the country’s economy is not good, people have no money in their pockets and party leaders too, have no money, advising Malawians to support each other to achieve their long wait agenda, Chakwera is voted out of government.
