Head Coach of the Malawi under-21 netball team, Noel Mussa, says he is impressed with the teams preparations ahead of the Netball World Youth Cup, scheduled for September 1928, 2025, in Gibraltar.
Mussa said the players are confident for the tournament, having trained well.
He added that the teams focus is on ensuring each player performs according to the tactics they have been taught.
We believe that the selected players will battle and deliver for the nation. We have seen a lot of improvement through the trainings. We hope that the girls will perform well, he said.
As part of preparations, the team will play two friendly matches against Jamaica and Singapore before their first World Youth Cup game on September 19, 2025.
Sports analyst Edwin Mbewe said the tournament is important for shaping the future of netball in Malawi. He urged the team to work hard and make the most of every game to avoid conceding many buckets.

Our netball team has recently not been performing well, so this is an opportunity for them to improve. Hosting national leagues across all regions has helped to prepare players for such competitions, he said.
The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has announced the final 15-player squad for the World Youth Cup. The team will depart for Gibraltar on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Malawi has been grouped with South Africa, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
