One of the patriotic citizens who stood fearlessly against the MCP- Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, says political agreements are not mere signatures on paper, they are bounds of honor, and commitments made before the people and promises that define the character of leaders.

Jumbe said when the MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera ascended to power, the people of Malawi placed their hopes in them, but soon, power intoxicated their leaders, they broke the very alliances that had carried them to the top saying greed and arrogance replaced unity and humility.

He said MCPs betrayal of its political partners was the beginning of its downfall, instead of serving the people, they chose to serve themselves, they became drunk with power, blind to stand condemned in the dustbin of the nation’s history- remembered not for their promises, but for their greed, corruption, and betrayal of trust.

Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe has commended the leadership of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the DPP for upholding the true spirit of democracy saying the DPP government’s decision to honor the political agreement and appoint Hon. Enoch Kamzingeni Chihana as 2nd Vice President of the country is more than a political gesture.

Comrade Jumbe said the decision to honor Chihana is an act of integrity, patriotism and respect for democratic values saying this is reflecting maturity in governance and sets a shining example of what true democracy means in the practice.

He said the DPP under President Professor Mutharika has demonstrated that leadership is not about empty rhetoric but bout moral responsibility by honoring the agreement that brought them to power, observing that they have restored faith in political partnership.

The patriot said the DPP has proved that it values the principles of trust and partnership upon which democracy is built saying true democracy demands humility, accountability, and remembrance of those who helped pave the path to power.

He said this moment should serve as a national lesson that every ruling party and every leader must remember that betrayal may yield temporary gain, but loyalty and integrity build lasting legacies saying leadership without honor is like a drum without rhythm – it makes noise but produces no music.

“I take great pride in acknowledging this milestone in our nation’s democratic journey, the DPP government has proven that it has reformed, it really stands for justice, unity, and progress,” said Jumbe.

He said the DPP has shown that agreements made in good faith must be respected, for they are the foundation upon which trust and national cohesion are built, saying this must be a reminder to all who aspire to lead that power is not a trophy to be enjoyed, but a responsibility to be honored.

Comrade Jumbe has finally prayed to the country’s leaders to continue to walk this path of integrity for Malawi to remain a beacon of true democracy on the African continent.
