Crowds Gather at Msalura Ground for DPP Thank-You Rally

SALIMA, Malawi — A massive crowd has converged at Msalura Community Ground in Salima District, where the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is holding a thank-you rally to express gratitude to Malawians for voting Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as President of the Republic of Malawi.

The colourful event has drawn thousands of supporters, reflecting growing enthusiasm and renewed energy within the party. Blue flags and banners fill the air as people chant DPP slogans, celebrating what they describe as a “return of hope” for Malawi under Mutharika’s leadership.

DPP Leaders Grace the Event

Several top political figures have already arrived at the venue, including parliamentary aspirant Symon Vuwa Kaunda Jnr and a number of traditional leaders from the district, who have pledged their continued support for the party.

The DPP Vice President for the Central Region, Hon. Alfred Gangata, who also serves as Minister of State, is expected to deliver the keynote address, outlining the party’s gratitude and its future development agenda for Malawians.

Other notable attendees include DPP Secretary General Peter Mukhitho and National Youth Director Norman Chisale, who are both expected to speak on the party’s vision for national unity, job creation, and youth empowerment.

According to party insiders, today’s rally is not just a celebration but also a message of unity and commitment to rebuilding Malawi’s economy. The DPP leadership is using the occasion to reassure citizens of its plans to improve infrastructure, revive the agricultural sector, and restore investor confidence.
