President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, says the prophecy he made during the campaign trails of stepping his feet in Lilongwe as President of the country has come to pass that he is in Lilongwe to take government.
Professor Mutharika has assured Malawians that DPP will grow in the next 5 years, 10 years and even 20 years if God allows saying the enemies of progress that are preaching a message of coming back into government in 2030, will not come back.
He said he accepted to stand as a presidential candidate to liberate Malawians from the slavery of the MCP and to build Malawi which was destroyed and now that they are in government, he encouraged all the citizens to work hard, to work and work.
Speaking in Lilongwe Old Town on his arrival from Mangochi, President Professor Mutharika said distribution of free food to the poor will start with Machinga district saying by next week, all the maize which has been imported from Zambia will be in the country.
Mutharika assured Malawians that he is committed to end hunger in Malawi and no one will die of hunger, his promises are fulfilled thanking all Malawians across the country for voting him into government.
He said his cabinet will be small and there are many capable people who will not be part and parcel of it advising those who have been appointed to serve in various capacities that if they don’t perform, he will fire them without hesitation.
“I will not allow my cabinet members to be doing things contrary to the wishes of those that elected us into government,” said Mutharika.
He told the people in Lilongwe that he arrived at a good hour so that he hunts for a room to spend a night because the previous MCP led government destroyed the reputation of Kamuzu Palace speaking to itself that Kamuzu Palace is not the House of honor as it was, yesterday.
