Political activist Bon Kalindo, has thanked President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for ordering fresh inquiry on circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, saying millions of Malawians that had questions without answers, are now happy.

Kalindo has proposed that the inquiry be live on both the radio and televisions saying this will help all Malawians including those living in the hard to reach areas of the country follow the proceedings having in mind that Dr. Chilima was the former Vice President of the country.

He has expressed fears that if not careful with the committee of Parliament investigating the death of Dr. Chilima, justice will not be seen saying the whole matter will be politicized with accusations of political witch-hunting.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said for Dr. Chilima’s death report to be credible, politicians must not be included in the committee, saying all in Malawi want Chilima’s death to come to a closure but not with the committee in Parliament.

Kalindo said if indeed the committee in Parliament be allowed to investigate Chilima’s death, families whose loved ones perished in that tragic plane crash will not see Justice.

He said it is the with of each and everyone in Malawi to see Justice happening so that all those who murdered Dr. Chilima and eight others, must be arrested and prosecuted in a court of law.

” The matter on Dr. Chilima’s death must be handled with seriousness and care for Malawians and families not to cry that Justice has not been seen,” he said.

In the audio clip, Kalindo has asked the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) to investigate the whereabouts of the money meant for electoral staff of the 16th September, 2025 elections saying it is sad that some people have completely been forgotten by Mec after working for the organization.

Kalindo has expressed doubts if the roles of Mec are being seen of delivering credible, transparent, free and fair elections while many who worked for it in the previous elections are up to this day not paid for their moneys.

He said Mec officials are busy finding means and ways responding to the presidential order of relocating to Blantyre instead of holding a meeting of finding solutions for those that are crying for their money to be given and deliver the By elections in the interest of all.

On NEEF loans, Kalindo has accused NEEF officials of following up those who borrowed one million Kwachas leaving out those who borrowed billions of Kwachas into their families.

He has called for the creation of a special court to handle cases of those that are defaulting paying back what they borrowed claiming that some people in Malawi have been turned into billionaires over a night through NEEF loans and small mega farms on paper.
