Blithe Construction chief executive officer Patrick Khambadza, who is also a lecturer at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (Mubas), has appealed to Malawians to consider adopting sustainable technologies in a bid to mitigate climate change challenges.
Khambadza made the sentiments earlier today in Blantyre when purchased an Ec3 electric vehicle from Sky Energy Africa worth K62 million, making him one of the early adopters of electric vehicles.
With the purchase of such vehicles, he said they will not only cut costs, but go a long way in environmental protection.
He said: “By switching to electric vehicles, we will significantly reduce our fuel and operational expenses while also contributing to a greener future. It actually goes beyond environmental responsibility; it is about making smart financial decisions”.
Sky Energy Africa operations director Kondwani Tchereni in a separate interview said it would be imperative for Malawians to consider making a purchase of the vehicles as part of environmental sustainability, aside from cost saving.
“We are trying to save the environment apart from people themselves making huge savings by use of these electric vehicles,” he said.
