In an effort to uplift the standard of football in the country, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya has declared that the CAF B License will be the benchmark for head coaches in the National Division League, set to kick off with 16 teams in 2025.

This announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the CAF B Coaching Course at Mpira House in Blantyre, marking a significant milestone in Malawi’s football development.

“We are poised to transform Malawi’s football landscape, ensuring that coaches are equipped with world-class expertise to propel the sport forward,” said Haiya.

Twenty-three coaches, including three trailblazing females, have successfully completed the theory session of the course, which commenced on August 26, 2024.

The comprehensive program will conclude on December 19, with practical sessions interspersed throughout.

The FAM president added, “This unprecedented investment in coaching development is set to revolutionize Malawi football, fostering a culture of excellence and competitiveness”.

As Malawi’s football fraternity eagerly awaits the National Division League’s inception, one thing is clear: the future of Malawi football is yet to look brighter.
