End the Cycle of Conflict in the DRC: A Call for Immediate Withdrawal of Peacekeepers.

By Comrade jumbe

For decades, the peacekeeping missions led by SADC, the African Union, and the United Nations have failed to bring lasting peace to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Despite ongoing military presence, the conflict between DRC, Rwanda, and M23 has only worsened, with no end in sight.

It’s time for a bold shift in strategy—an immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all peacekeeping forces.

This is not an act of weakness, but a step toward true peace. The presence of foreign troops has only prolonged the violence, preventing real dialogue between the conflicting parties.

By removing external military forces, the DRC, Rwanda, and M23 will be forced to negotiate directly, without interference.

War has its causes, but peace will not come through force. It’s time for these nations to find their own resolution.

The withdrawal of troops will prevent further regional escalation, stop the cycle of violence, and create the space for meaningful peace talks.

SADC, the African Union, and the UN must act now:

Withdraw peacekeepers immediately.

Ensure safe passage for all departing troops.

Push for an unconditional ceasefire.

Encourage direct, unmediated talks.

True peace in the DRC begins with stepping back and allowing the parties to talk, without the presence of foreign military forces. Now is the time for leadership that prioritizes diplomacy over force, and peace over war.

My pen is mightier than a sword.
