Limpoop FM an online radio station has asked Former President and DPP leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to discipline Charles Mchacha, Chimwemwe Chipungu, Francis Mphepo and Mwandidya for their involvement in conducting bogus primary elections.
Limpopo FM said it has received numerous concerns from DPP supporters and members that the four are at the helm of making sure that the electoral processes are derailed to suit their interests other than those of the delegates.
The radio said the four are behind destroying area committees for new ones to advance their political agendas advising Professor Mutharika that if there will be no immediate action against the four, the party is risking itself for independent MPs to stand on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
The Radio’s Nkhanga zaona programme producer Comrade Mtanyiwa said it is sad that in Thyolo North, competing candidates have not met the delegates to sell out their names and manifestos for the delegates to trust them that they are indeed potential candidates only to be told that there will be primary elections.
Mtanyiwa said DPP is for all and hope for Malawians to liberate the country from the shackles of MCPs dictatorship assuring Malawians that if DPP win the elections, people should not talk of its previous problems but success stories for the country to move forward.
He said those presiding elections for the DPP are going there with a name in their pocket to be elected describing this as a threat to democracy advising all losing candidates that if they are being loved by the constituents, they should stand independent and after election into office, they should go back to the DPP.
“This can be a good way of shaming the DPP, leave the people alone to elect their own representatives in the constituencies and wards,” said Comrade Mtanyiwa.
On his part, Political activist Bon Kalindo has warned the MCP and DPP that they should bless themselves for independent candidates on the 16th September, 2025 elections claiming that the way the two parties are conducting primary elections, have left a lot to be desired.
Kalindo said in democracy, power is to the people, warning the MCP and DPP that imposing candidates to win the primary elections will result to that candidate losing to an independent candidate saying this will greatly affect the parties for having less Members of Parliament in the August House.
He has appealed to MCP and DPP to respect the will of the people who in this case are the delegates advising the two parties that pocket party candidates will take them to nowhere but only destroying the good image of their parties.
