Mangochi, Malawi — September 2025: Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) parliamentary candidate for Mangochi Lutende, Louis Malukula, has appealed to voters to rally behind the party and its presidential candidate, Professor Peter Mutharika, in the upcoming September 16 elections.
Speaking during his final campaign rally held at Lungwena Community Hall grounds, Malukula emphasized that the DPP remains the only party with practical policies designed to uplift the lives of Malawians.

K5 Billion Development Fund for All Districts
Malukula announced that under the DPP manifesto, K5 billion will be allocated to every district in Malawi to accelerate development in critical sectors such as infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture. He stressed that this initiative is aimed at ensuring equal distribution of resources across the country.

Loan Schemes for Youth and Women
The Mangochi Lutende candidate also highlighted DPP’s plan to roll out affordable loans for the youth and women, a scheme he said will be different from the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF). According to Malukula, NEEF loans have been a burden to families, while the proposed DPP loans will be sustainable and empowering.
Commitment to Education, Electricity, Health, and Agriculture
Malukula assured his constituents that if elected, he will push for improved access to education, reliable electricity supply, better healthcare services, and support for farmers. He positioned himself as a leader with a clear vision for long-term growth in Mangochi Lutende and Malawi at large.
“The DPP under Peter Mutharika has real policies that will change lives. I am asking you to vote for me and the DPP so that together, we can build a better Malawi,” Malukula said.
Why This Matters for Voters in Mangochi
As the election draws near, the promises of district development funds, youth empowerment, women’s financial inclusion, and social services improvement are set to resonate strongly with Mangochi voters. Malukula’s message is clear: a vote for DPP is a vote for progress, opportunity, and equal development.
