Malawi Freedom Network Congratulates Mutharika on His Historic Return to Power

Blantyre, October 4, 2025 — Malawi Freedom Network (MFN) has joined millions of Malawians in congratulating President Arthur Peter Mutharika (APM) following his official swearing-in ceremony held at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

In a statement released shortly after the inauguration, Malawi Freedom Network hailed Mutharika’s victory as “a triumph of democracy, unity, and the people’s will.” The organization commended Malawians for conducting a peaceful election and urged the newly inaugurated president to prioritize national unity, economic stability, and good governance.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and Her Excellency Justice Dr. Jane Ansah on their election as President and Vice President of the Republic of Malawi,” the statement read.
“This is a new chapter for Malawi — one that calls for inclusive leadership, reconciliation, and a renewed commitment to development.”

A Message of Unity and Progress

The Malawi Freedom Network emphasized that the election results reflect the trust Malawians have placed in Mutharika’s leadership experience and vision. The organization urged all political parties to put aside their differences and work together in rebuilding the nation’s economy and public confidence.

“It is time to move beyond political divisions and work together for a prosperous Malawi,” the group added. “We believe President Mutharika’s administration will bring stability and restore confidence in government institutions.”

Peaceful Transition Commended

MFN also applauded outgoing President Lazarus Chakwera for peacefully conceding defeat and ensuring a smooth transition of power, describing it as a sign of political maturity and democratic growth in Malawi.

The organization further encouraged civil society, the private sector, and young people to actively participate in shaping the country’s future, stressing that democracy thrives when citizens remain engaged.
