Nsanje, Malawi — Member of Parliament for Nsanje Central (Lower Shire), Walter Nyamilandu Manda, has assured his constituents that their vote was not in vain, emphasizing that they made the right decision by choosing him to represent them in the National Assembly.

Speaking at a thanksgiving rally held at the Nsanje Prison grounds, Manda expressed gratitude to the people for the trust they placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting development, reducing hunger, and addressing poverty in the district.

“You did not waste your vote,” Manda told the crowd. “I did not come to misuse CDF funds. I did not come to steal or to insult anyone. I came to rebuild Nsanje, which has long been divided.”

Focus on Ending Hunger and Poverty

Nsanje is among districts frequently affected by droughts and floods, leading to persistent food shortages. Manda said tackling these challenges is at the center of his development agenda. He pledged to work closely with local communities to find sustainable solutions that can improve livelihoods.
