TNM Super League giants Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers will be hoping to bounce back quickly after suffering defeats in their respective opening matches last weekend.
Both Silver and Wanderers lost their opening matches of the season 1-0 to Red Lions at Balaka Stadium and 2-1 to Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium respectively.
This afternoon, Silver will be at home against rookies Rumphi United at Silver Stadium whereas the Nomads host TN Stars at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
The matches provide the two teams with a perfect opportunity to respond and kick start their title challenge this season.
Ahead of the match, Silver assistant coach Macdonald Yobe said they are taking the game seriously to avoid another defeat.
“The players are working hard. We have forgotten what happened last week and the players are determined to prove their worth,” Yobe said.
Rumphi are also coming from a 2-0 defeat to fellow rookies Dedza Dynamos at home.
Surely, Rumphi will also be looking to bounce back quickly before facing Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium tomorrow.
On the part of Wanderers, they will be hoping to get maximum points against Stars after relocating to Mpira Stadium from Kamuzu Stadium.
Nomads assistant coach Joseph Kamwendo is optimistic of getting a positive result.
“This is a very important match for us and we need to exercise caution,” Kamwendo said.
Taking his turn, Stars coach Kondwani Mwalweni said his troops are on a serious mission
“We are geared for the games. We hope to put a strong performance,” he said.
Stars will face Sable Farming tomorrow at the same venue.
Elsewhere, Red Lions will host Karonga United at Balaka Stadium whereas Moyale Barracks will be at home to Civil Service United at Mzuzu Stadium.
