Wanderers are Blantyre derby legends

By Suleman Chitera Mar4,2024

In a thrilling showdown at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Mighty Wanderers legends secured the bragging rights over their sworn rivals Bullets legends in a CIC Legends Cup encounter.

The match was played under heavy downpour and took a dramatic turn when Heston Munthali netted a late opener for Bullets in the second half.

However, the jubilations were short-lived for the Bullets veterans as Victor Nyirenda struck back with a stoppage-time goal, leveling the score.

With the game deadlocked, the teams proceeded to penalty shootout, where Wanderers legends emerged triumphant with a 3-2 scoreline.

Notable scorers for Wanderers were Joseph Kamwendo, Wachimwa Sadik and James Sangala while Bullets found the back of the net through Patrick Mabedi.

Beyond the excitement on the field, the match was aimed at raising funds for retired players from both sides
