President Lazarus Chakwera is pledging to continue pushing for more women to make it into parliament during the forthcoming polls in line with his government’s agenda for gender equality at all levels.
President Chakwera made the commitment during the high level dialogue on generation equality and women leadership conference.
According to Chakwera, his administration has already made strides of putting women into various decision-making positions so as they make a huge contribution in the social economic status of the country.
The meeting has attracted the participation of women leaders both within and outside the country.
Chakwera have since vowed that his administration will remain steadfast in supporting women initiatives through policy and legislative restructuring, political will and resource mobilisation to drive their socioeconomic growth.
