Mbendera Elected As Chessam Legal Advisor

A fresh Law graduate, Vice Captain and former chess player from the University of Malawi (UNIMA), Martin Anto Mbendera, has been elected as the new Chess Association of Malawi (CHESSAM) Legal Advisor.

This follows CHESSAM 2022 elections that were held in Lilongwe at Crossroads hotel on the 15th October, after a successful 4 years lead by the out gone executive.

In his remarks, Mbendera has assured CHESSAM to expect continuation of excellent Counsel work from him.

“Mostly I’ll help in the Constitution Amendment which is pending and which should improvise on the loopholes that have recently been observed, and also incorporate some of the new Malawi National Council of Sports guideline” Mbendera explains.

Meanwhile Mbendera has encouraged UNIMA Chess club members to continue doing well as he understands that being in a club at a University is not enough rather they should go out there and work for the sport they love.

Among other Executive positions, Mpilo Mizere is the new CHESSAM President while Francis Kudzula is the New Vice President.
