Flames Captain Christopher John Banda (CJ) is on the verge of clinching the first league championship with União Desportiva do Songo as they just need seven points out of three remaining matches.
Songo is currently leading the Moçambola log table with 45 points from 19 games just two points above second-placed Black Bulls Maputo.
Songo must win two and draw one if they are to claim the championship.
This will be the first time for Malawi’s Captain to win the league championship in Mozambique after a good five years of silence.
Banda joined Ferroviàrio Nampula from Blue eagles in 2017, then two years later signed for his current club.
In his first year, Songo won Tarca De Mozambique Cup.
CJ is one of the current few outstanding Flames stars who are doing well internationally.
