More than 135 households in Traditional Authorities Kayembe and Chakhaza in Dowa have been affected by strong winds and heavy rains.
The rains which started in the afternoon of 1st December left the houses in an inhabitable state.
According to the Relief and Rehabilitation Officer for Dowa District, Twambilire Ngosi, some houses have collapsed and the affected people have lost their belongings such as flour and other belongings.

Some of the affected villages include; Msangayambe, Chimbalu, Katontha, Nkomba, Buno and Ntupira.
